A DANCE
BODY has ideal
Pilates & Movement Training Whilst the physicality of dance is unquestionable, considering dance as only a sport is perhaps selling it short. Dance is more than sport, it has an indefinable quality above and beyond sport. We believe the difference between dance and sport can be explained in a single word - “Grace”. Grace may be defined as “Seemingly effortless beauty or charm of movement, form, or proportion. An elegance of manner, motion and action.” Graceful movement is effortless, it flows without signs of strain, effort or concentration. Core stability, posture and kinaesthetic awareness are all vital to achieving graceful movement. Unfortunately the body is not well designed to achieve the high levels of grace required to be a great dancer, otherwise we all would be. Pilates Instructors have the skills and knowledge of the elements of good movement patterns and can teach kinaesthetic awareness so dancers can achieve a DANCE BODY for better, more graceful, patterns of movement.
