performance and prospects with a 13 week training course combining assessment and exercise programming
skills with an extensive Pilates floor and equipment exercise repertoire.
This course introduces
the Pilates Method for strength development, injury and pain management and
motor retraining. It provides an extensive overview of Pilates floor,
Reformer, Trapeze Table and Wunda Chair repertoire. Students will gain
appropriate knowledge and skills in performing each exercise with theory,
personal practice and observations of qualified Instructors and Clinical
Pilates Practitioners (Physiotherapists).
Students will gain knowledge and experience in performing a Pilates
assessment, focusing on posture and movement. A brief overview of Clinical
Pilates and other rehabilitation methods commonly used in conjunction with
Pilates will be explored.
Skills gained from this
course would be an attribute to any person looking to start a career in the
rehabilitation industry. Teach Pilates provides the pre-requisites for entry into

Course Pre-Requisites Students considering teaching Pilates should be confident, well spoken and lateral thinkers. Entry into the course requires successful completion of Tertiary level Anatomy, Physiology and Exercise Programming units and/or Certificate IV in Fitness. Course Details Five hours per week for 13 weeks consisting of 1 hour lecture notes and pre-reading research articles, in your own time0.5 hours theory tutorial and 1.5 hours experiential practice 1 hour observation of a Pilates Instructor or Physiotherapist, and 1 hour personal practice. Semester 2, 2010 (13 weeks) - Monday 7pm - 9pm - Commencing 19th July 2010 Course cost - $770. Early bird discount of $55 available for full payment two weeks prior to commencement of course.
