Vibration Fitness

Whole Body Vibration is an incredibly efficient means of exercising. At a frequency of 30 Hz and amplitude of 5mm Whole Body Vibration produces gravitational loading of 18G's. This artificially induced gravity means far greater muscle work is required to move the weight of the body.
One session of ten minutes of Whole Body Vibration equates to 150 leg presses using 3 times body weight twice a week for 5 weeks.
For time poor individuals Whole Body Vibration can be used for strengthening of bone and muscle where they would otherwise do a weights or circuit training schedule.
For the athletic population Whole Body Vibration is used as an adjunct to normal strength and track work. Weights can be used while on the platforms, jumps, squats and push-ups are also commonly performed on the plate along with static exercises. To really raise the bar the challenge can progress to functional activities such as throwing, catching and hitting whilst on the platform.

Whole Body Vibration is incredibly time efficient with proven physiological benefits after just one minute and a full training routine lasting no more than ten minutes.
Our exercise physiologists and fitness instructors will provide a thorough assessment and commence you on a program of specific exercises on Whole Body Vibration machine.
Within 2-3 sessions most people can operate the machine and follow their program independently. Unsupervised use of the Galileo can then occur at times of your convenience. Occasional review with an instructor will ensure your program remains relevant and effective at all times.
